Envirion has just sealed a strategic partnership with VG Engineering and EGS for the delivery of natural gas flare reduction solutions. Focussing on frontier territory Net Zero targets, we design and deliver technical solutions to one of the major contributors of Green House Gases (GHG) worldwide.

Flaring is the combustion of excess natural gas produced from Oil wells which cannot be utilised due to insufficient processing infrastructure. As oil is much more lucrative than gas by physical volume and much easier to store and transport, the "excess" gas is simply burnt away in the process called "flaring".

Flaring emits huge amounts of carbon dioxide as well as wasting a valuable, non-renewable, natural resource.

Areas such as the Nigerian delta, which produces 75 million tonnes of CO2 per year through flaring, are large contributors to worldwide GHG. The amount of carbon dioxide flared in the Nigerian basin is more the whole 200 million population of Nigeria emits from transport and electricity useage. This despite a commendable 70% reduction in flaring in the last decade. Nigeria have an ambitious target of Net Zero due to natural gas flaring by 2030 and Envirion with its partners aims to help.

Envirion delivers Flare Reduction solutions through processing of the natural gas through power generation systems and subsequent monetisation through power offtakes or power hungry applications such as cryptocurrency mining. Solutions that deliver enhanced profits to the client while at same time achieving net zero targets and avoiding penalties or fines. Win-win for the clients and the planet!
